Year of the Horse Necklace - Brass
February 17th brings us the Chinese New Year and the Year of the Fire Horse! It symbolizes rapid change, intense energy, passion and sometimes chaos. It combines the independent, fast-paced horse with the fiery, transformative element, fostering breakthroughs in technology, social unrest, and a need for resilience.
Known as a "peak of fire" year, it burns away the old to make way for the new, favoring bold, immediate action over long-term planning. It represents a time for breaking boundaries, following dreams, and making significant, permanent changes. While it fosters innovation, art, and passion, it can also bring volatility, conflict, and a highly competitive, fast-paced atmosphere.
As I was thinking about what to make in honor of this, I remembered seeing ancient horse coins and did a bit of research. This new design is based off of a bronze Ancient Greek coin from 400-350 BCE. It depicts a horse prancing. It also reminds me of horse cave paintings of Lascaux.
I like how it is similar to the Ancient Athena coin. We're also making these as charms and we're making them in silver, see them all HERE.
Oxidized Brass Pendant is 3/4" in diameter and is suspended on a 16"/18" adjustable Oxidized brass chain.
