On Silver...
One of the ways I'm dealing with the rising cost of silver is to focus more on brass to keep things affordable. Sometimes having constraints on materials can lead to exciting new designs! Like these...
Most are aware (through the stock market more than jewelry market) that silver is at an all time high and keeps rising. Last year at this time it was $35/oz, it went up in the fall to $50/oz and we had to raise our prices. Today it's at $109/oz and obviously we have to raise them again.
We're doing what we can to ride this wave. It will inform how and what I create. I can no longer hold onto silver backstock so moving forward with many of our bigger silver designs, we'll either stop making those pieces (until silver goes back down) or offer them as pre-orders (which we will be able to fulfill 2 weeks from order date).
Another solution I'm excited to present - we're offering stainless steel chains as a waaay less expensive alternative. It looks like silver and it doesn't tarnish and it's hypoallergenic! As an example, a given Sterling Silver Pendant on Sterling Silver chain could currently cost $230 but on steel chain... $115! We'll be rolling that option out on many of our listings, if you don't see it, just email us and we'll help with that!
Here we have Sterling Silver Chain on the left and Stainless Steel on the right, such a similar look but so much more affordable!
