Moon Tarot Pendant - Silver
I've been thinking about making some Tarot themed pieces for a while and was always overwhelmed by where to start. Suddenly it just made sense to start with moon! So many moons...
I chose the Rider-Waite Tarot Moon card as it's one of the most common tarot decks. Here the full moon is bright in the night’s sky, positioned between two large towers. The Moon is a symbol of intuition, dreams, and the unconscious. Its light is dim compared to the sun, and only slightly illuminates the path to higher consciousness winding between the two towers. In the foreground is a small pool, representing the watery, subconscious mind. A small crayfish crawls out of the pool, symbolizing the early stages of consciousness unfolding. A dog and a wolf stand in the grassy field, howling at the moon, representing both the tamed and the wild aspects of our minds. I had to simplify the design a bit to make it viewable at such a small size.
I love this interpretation of the card: The moon's light can bring you clarity and understanding and you should allow your intuition to guide you through this darkness. You need to be aware of the situations that are causing fear and anxiety in your mind, whether it is now or in the future. It alerts you not to allow inner disturbances and self-deception to take the best of you. These deep memories and fears must be let go, and the negative energies must be released and turned into something constructive.
