The literal meaning of Amethyst is “not intoxicated” – its name translates from the Greek word améthystos. Amethyst was used in ancient times to recover from both physical addictions as well as addictive relationships, and became known as the “stone of sobriety”.
Moons are about 7/8" tall x 1/2" wide at their widest, and these hang 2" from sterling silver earwires to the tips of crescent moons.
