VERMONT ROCKS! "WISHING STONE" TINY SILVER TALISWOMAN, OOAK #3
$100
I took my son to a lovely beach on Lake Champlain that is covered with these magical striped rocks. They are called "Wishing Stones" locally, but are factually known as Iberville Shale. The dark gray is shale and the white stripes are calcite. They were first discovered in Iberville in Quebec. They are roughly 500 million years old from when this was all ocean! The same compression that caused these rocks to form created The Green Mountains... I had so much fun collecting these treasures and then I got to have more fun sorting and drilling them for our jewelry needs!
This iteration features a one of a kind, beautiful VT Wishing Stone suspended from one of my Tiny Silver bails with Silver wire-wrapping, suspended from our Oxidized Sterling Silver 16"/18" adjustable necklace chain. Stone measures 7/8" tall x 3/4" wide x 3/16" thick. The the total height from the top of the silver bail to the bottom of the stone is 1 1/8". These pieces give back! I'll be donating $5 from every Vermont Rocks Pendant to the Lake Champlain Committee (LCC). They work for clean accessible water through science-based advocacy, education and collaborative action. They have a history of nearly 60 years as the region's only bi-state non-profit organization dedicated to lake health and accessibility.
