LARGE-LINK STERLING SILVER CHAIN NECKLACES with YOUR CHOICE of LARGE MEDALLIONS
We've combined a few of my most recent Medallion designs with larger-link, Sterling Silver Chains to create some bold new necklaces! These are great to layer with your other 永 necklaces!
Choose the Large Medallion you want! Featured here are:
"STIPLED COLLAR": There's something so ancient about this piece. I used a tool to free hand the dots on the surface. Quite the statement necklace but could also layer well with a smaller necklace above it. Medallion is 1 7/8" wide x 1 3/8" tall
"NEBRA SKY DISC": The actual Nebra sky disc is a bronze disc of around 12" diameter and a weight of 5lbs, having a blue-green patina and inlaid with gold symbols. These symbols are interpreted as the Sun or full moon, a lunar crescent, and stars (including a cluster of seven stars interpreted as the Pleiades). Two golden arcs along the sides, interpreted to mark the angle between the solstices, were added later. A final addition was another arc at the bottom with internal parallel lines, which is usually interpreted as a solar boat or a rainbow or even the Aurora Borealis.
It features the oldest concrete depiction of astronomical phenomena known from anywhere in the world. In June 2013, it was included in the UNESCO Memory of the World Register and termed "one of the most important archaeological finds of the twentieth century." So yeah, I definitely needed to make a pendant of the Nebra Disc! Here it is in brass and we will have them in Sterling Silver too! Hope you love this as much as I do! 1 1/8" diameter
"REVERSIBLE CARVED DISC": This unique and textural carved medallion is reversible to another carved pattern. It is reminiscent of a mandala. (The meaning of mandala is Sanskrit for "circle.") A mandala has a concentric structure, offering balancing visual elements. The purpose of a mandala is to serve as a tool to help harmonize and bring about unity, to absorb the mind so that the chatter stills and higher consciousness can be reached. 1 1/8" diameter.
"ALTAR BOWL": One of the first pieces I made in Bronze Clay back in 2008 was a tiny cracking bowl. It sits on a little altar of mine with some little crystals in it...
I wanted to replicate it as a necklace and purposefully encouraged the cracking of the clay as a I worked with it. The texture on this is so amazing and looks so old and ancient... a tiny artifact! I added tiny dots around the back of the bowl- this pieces is truly reversible. I love the idea of this being used on an alter, to hold some tiny precious thing and then being worn in between. It's also very soothing to the touch, like a worry stone. A little over 1" in diameter.
