Tiny Silver and Gold Mezzaluna Earrings
I keep seeing this shape, this circle and swoop everywhere. It’s a shape many of us are seeing (one friend sketched it for a woven purse and another had a similar design sideways on some pottery), what does it mean?? It’s similar to many designs I’ve always made, circles and crescents but there’s a FIERCENESS to it. These designs are still soft and round but sharp, they have more EDGE. They’re a little more dangerous, even weapon like.... They reminded me of a knife that looks like this. I searched online for “rocking herb knife” and came to find out that they’re called Mezzaluna knives. The word is Italian for Crescent Moon. Ahhh.
Mezzaluna Earrings: tiny silver hoop, hammered Gold Vermeil blade. These blades are made with GOLD VERMEIL! GOLD VERMEIL is a premier version of a thick electro-plating of 23.5 karat Gold over a solid Sterling Silver base- it's the right solution for us to provide everyone who wants their 永 pieces in GOLD that are durable, beautiful, and affordable! Still, we recommend that you wear these pieces gently and thoughtfully. The Vermeil is a surface finish after all, and although these pieces are quite stable, wearing these items regularly in the shower, for example, or while swimming (where various chemicals or elements could be abrasive to the finish over time) or being too rough with them, like tossing them onto a nightstand, could definitely damage their beauty!
- 14K gold earwires, Sterling Silver hoops. Hoop diameter is just shy of 1". Earwire to the bottom of the blade is 1 3/4" tall.
