It is in these moments that we wonder, what can we do? It's so easy to feel small and helpless and like we can't make a difference. It's normal to feel far away from global issues and not know what to do or how to help. I think a part of me has been shut off from taking any more bad world news in but that doesn't make it go away. I see my local community rising up to support Ukraine and it inspires me. In these moments, we can all do what we can do with what we do or have. I can make tiny pendants and raise money for UNICEF, they are on the ground in Ukraine, helping children.
Most of these are now made and ready to ship! A few will be delayed when we run out and need to make more.)
Children are the least responsible for war in Ukraine, but they suffer most from its consequences. Our donation to UNICEF will ensure that Ukraine's children have access to safe water, nutrition, health care, education and protection.
I drew this little Sunflower, and had a stamp made from it, I made an original in Pure Silver Precious Metal Clay and I'm having it cast so we can have brass, sterling and even gold vermeil options. We'll also have matching earrings in all 3 metals and some wrap bracelets.
Made of Gold vermeil which is a thick electro-plating of high karat 23.5 karat gold over a solid sterling silver base. Pendant measures a little larger than 1/2" in diameter, and is suspended on a 16" 18" or 20" strand of faceted Lapis beads.
