The spiritual meaning of Amethyst is groundedness, tranquility, and calm. The literal meaning of Amethyst is “not intoxicated” – its name translates from the Greek word améthystos. To this ancient, wise culture, the Amethyst crystal was of the utmost importance, and the myth associated with it still lives on inside it to this day.
